Art instruction is offered in small groups for adults and youth. Students sixth grade and older may take most of the classes offered to adults. Classes are taught by Helen Kleczynski unless noted otherwise. If you are unsure of which class is right for you, Helen would be happy to meet with you. Students of all levels are welcome, and will work at their own level. Classes are kept small so each student may receive individual attention. To reserve your space, please pay for your class ahead of time. Please call at least 24 hours ahead of time if you cannot come to a class that you are registered for and you will receive a credit for another class. If your schedule is variable and you cannot plan ahead, then you may call the day of class to see if space is available and pay when you arrive. To register for a class, you may send in the registration form along with your class fee. Some classes fill up quickly, so please call ahead to verify that space is available. If your schedule does not allow you to come during the instruction time for the medium you are working with, you may come during another class time.

DRAWING AND PAINTING Saturday 10:30 - 12:00 a.m. Jan. 28, Feb. 11, 25, Mar. 10, 24, Apr. 14, 28, May 12 (grades 4 - 9 or consent for younger students) Students who really love art will benefit from the in depth instruction in drawing and painting. Students will learn how to draw, work with color, and use two dimensional mediums such as graphite, watercolor, colored pencil, and pastels. The first four weeks students will explore various mediums and learn about other artists’ work in order to inspire their own creativity and composition. The next 4 weeks students will work with the instructor to develop the project of their choice. $144 class fee. Materials fee $40 (includes framing for one painting or drawing).
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS FULL. PLEASE CALL THE ART HOUSE AT 649-3282 TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST Tuesday; January 3 - May 29 Demonstration: 1:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Class: 1:45 - 3:30 p.m. Register for each week you plan to attend. Play with paint and learn when to let the paint follow its own path, and when to make it do what you want it to. Students of all levels will learn the joy of painting spontaneously, and with more precise control. Both styles of painting will be done with a limited selection of colors, mixed on the paper to achieve beautiful glowing colors. Each student will select the subject matter they would like to work on and the style they would like to focus on. Please bring several reference photographs (8" x 10" preferred) to your first class. Students will provide their own materials. $16 fee for each class, due one week prior to class. Students taking the class may attend the demonstration just prior to class at no additional charge. Wednesday; January 4 - May 30 Demonstration: 10:15 - 10:45 a.m. Class: 10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. $16 per week Saturday; Jan. 28, Feb. 11, 25, Mar. 10, 24, Apr. 14, 28, May 12 Class: 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. $25 per week (Saturday students may attend the demonstration on Tuesday or Wednesday at no additional charge.) Personal trainer Helen Kleczynski will guide each student as they work individually on projects of their choice, helping them build strength as emerging artists. Students may use graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, soft pastels, acrylics, or watercolor. Students will provide their own materials. Students should register ahead to assure that space is available, and may sign up for any number of classes. Most students sign up for an entire training "season" (all winter, for example), with the exception of a few days that they will not be able to come. Students may attend the 3:45 p.m. Tuesday demonstration regardless of their class time. $16 fee for each Tuesday class, or $25 for each Saturday class, due one week prior to class.
